This special topics course invites students of advanced French to reflect critically on historical and sociocultural aspects of France, the Francophone world, and the French language through in-depth analysis of texts and materials from a variety of sources. The medium of instruction and assessment will be French. Specific topics covered will vary.

Indicative Assessment
At least two pieces of written work totalling 6000 words [Learning Outcomes 1-4]The ANU uses Turnitin to enhance student citation and referencing techniques, and to assess assignment submissions as a component of the University's approach to managing Academic Integrity. Workload
130 hours of total student learning time made up from:a) 36 hours of contact over 12 weeks: 36 hours of class time per week, and
b) 94 hours of independent student research, reading and writing.
