This Minor is incompatible with the Intelligent Systems major; Artificial Intelligence (UG) Specialization; and Machine Learning (UG) Specialization.
The Computing and Mathematical Foundations minor offers courses to set a mathematical and formal computer science foundation. It can be the stepping stone for a more in-depth computer science major, yet it also works as a stand-alone set of courses.
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, students will have the knowledge and skills to:1. demonstrate an applicable level of understanding in linear algebra and basic probability theory.
2. formalise real-world problems in a strict mathematical framework.
3. select and implement foundational computer science algorithms to solve strictly defined mathematical problems.
4. design frameworks and carry out empirical evaluations of linear algebra and basic probability theory problems.
