Students build on the language skills and understandings they have developed in INDG600x to develop speaking, listening, reading and writing skills in an Indigenous Australian language, to develop a deeper knowledge and understanding of the relation between language, culture and society in the community of the speakers and to reflect on the place of Indigenous Australian languages in Australia.
This course may be offered on campus or off-campus (location(s) to be advised for each offering), and delivered over the course of a semester or in intensive mode. It may also be offered online. This course is available for cross-Institutional enrolment.
Students will only be permitted to travel upon completion of ANU required documentation, including, where required, the approval of all documentation by the relevant delegate.

Students may enrol in this course more than once. This course is repeatable for credit, up to a maximum of 36 units, and if repeated must be repeated with a different language (topic) each time.

- demonstrate communicative skills allowing them to discuss a range of topics in the Indigenous language;
- read and understand texts in an Australian Indigenous language;
- write texts in an Australian Indigenous language;
- carry out research on socio-cultural, traditional and modern practices specific to the Indigenous Australian community speaking the language concerned; and
- reflect on how their understanding of Indigenous Australian languages has deepened.

Important notice:
If your final course is in a non-standard session, results may not be available in time for the upcoming Conferring of Awards Ceremonies. Results for a course will only be released once marks for all students in the course have been finalised and entered. Individual results for students will not be released. An autumn session course may not receive results by the deadline to graduate in July and a spring session course may not receive results by the deadline to graduate in December. You must take this into consideration before enrolling into this course.
