This course will extend the students' Spanish speaking, listening, reading and writing skills to reach the equivalent to B2.2 in the Common European Framework of Reference for languages. Classes are centred around authentic, contemporary materials, including literature, media and film, such that grammatical structures and vocabulary are acquired through contextualised use in a range of different contexts, and students gain greater understanding of cultures and societies from across the Spanish-speaking world.
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, students will have the knowledge and skills to:
- meet the expectations of the B2.2 level in speaking, listening, reading and writing;
- command a wide range of vocabulary and grammatical structures, allowing for fluent and spontaneous interaction with native speakers;
- communicate in a way that is socioculturally appropriate in different communicative settings; and
- engage with and discuss authentic materials in Spanish, including literature, media and film.
