This inspiring course guides students through practical projects to build knowledge and skills for making jewellery and domestic scale objects. Students will use hand tools, various materials, processes and workshop machinery to realise their projects. Students will engage with the relational schema of maker, wearer, viewer and user, providing an important basis from which they can understand and apply the complex dynamics existing between people and the objects they produce and experience.

Workload
130 hours of total student learning time made up from:a) 48 hours of contact over 12 weeks: lectures, tutorials, critiques and supervised studio practice; and
b) 82 hours of independent studio practice, reading and writing.
