This course aims to equip students to understand and use Spanish at an advanced level. Different topics related to Hispanic Linguistics are covered, to help students develop linguistic awareness and thereby enhance their oral, written and comprehension skills. Specific topics covered may vary from year to year.
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, students will have the knowledge and skills to:
- function effectively and confidently in Spanish in a variety of contexts;
- understand and use advanced grammatical structures when expressing themselves in oral and written form;
- conduct basic analyses of linguistic data;
- engage in discussions about cultural, social and linguistic aspects of the Hispanic world.

Workload
130 hours of total student learning time made up from:a) 42 hours of contact over 12 weeks: 3.5 hours of class per week, and
