This course will extend the students' Spanish speaking, listening, reading and writing skills to reach the equivalent to B2.2 in the Common European Framework of Reference for languages. Classes explore grammatical structures, vocabulary, pronunciation, etc. Spanish is acquired through contextualised use in a range of different contexts. Students gain greater understanding of the different cultural expressions and linguistic diversity in the Spanish-speaking world.
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, students will have the knowledge and skills to:
communicate orally in Spanish with substantially comprehensible and intelligible pronunciation, both spontaneously and in prepared contexts;
- communicate in writing in Spanish integrating relevant vocabulary and grammar to complete a task;
- demonstrate comprehension of complex written and oral texts in Spanish on familiar and new topics;
- demonstrate cross-cultural awareness and understanding of the diversity of the Spanish-speaking world; and
- demonstrate broad expertise in critical thinking by understanding, synthesising and interpreting complex topics and communicating their own views using appropriate discursive and argumentative language.

Workload
130 hours of total student learning time made up of:
