The Information Systems major blends both conceptual and practical skills focused on the creation, flow, and use of information within organisations. Students gain insights into organisational structures and acquire the necessary knowledge and skills for systems analysis, design, and management of organisational computer systems applications. This prepares them for a professional career in the Information Technology industry. The curriculum includes courses on project management, both theoretical and practical, and addresses a range of ethical issues pertinent to Information Systems.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Apply problem-solving, abstraction, mathematics, design and decision-making methodologies to develop components, systems and processes
  2. Identify, interpret and critically analyse stakeholder needs while recognising the constraints and uncertainties of the system (social, cultural, legislative, ethical and environmental).
  3. Use appropriate software, equipment and devices to ensure model applicability accuracy and limitations.
  4. Demonstrate communication skills, and research methods both individually as a group member through innovative approaches to real-world problems.
