This course offers students an opportunity for the advanced study of a special topic in crime, criminology, or criminal justice practice. The course content will vary from year to year in response to new and emerging theoretical and practical issues in the field.

Upon successful completion, students will have the knowledge and skills to:
- source and evaluate information and data about criminology in Australia;
- explain key theoretical and practical issues in criminology in written and/or oral form, at a level consistent with the expectations of the discipline; and
- use criminological theory and understanding to interpret and apply the material covered in the course.
