The political science minor provides students with an introduction to the study of political attitudes and behaviour, as well as the institutions and political systems of Australia and other countries. Students also develop analytical skills as applied to political phenomena.
Learning Outcomes
- demonstrate knowledge of the key areas of interest to political scientists, including citizen ideas/interests/attitudes/behaviour, policy actors al outcomes, and political systems and institutions;
- demonstrate understanding of political science theories and concepts the study of political phenomena in the context of at least one political science subfield;
- apply political science theories and concepts to the evaluation of select political phenomena; and
- communicate and debate both orally and in writing, and work with others, using various media.
